现任中国气象局人工影响天气中心总工程师、二级教授、博士生导师,中国气象局云降水物理与人工影响天气重点开放实验室主任,西北区域人工影响天气工程总设计师,全国人工影响天气科技咨询评议委员会副主任兼秘书长,中国气象局重点创新团队“人工影响天气作业效果检验技术团队”首席科学家,国家重点研发计划项目“人工影响天气技术集成综合科学试验与示范应用”和“暖云人工增雨关键技术”负责人兼首席科学家。曾任南京大学大气科学学院教授、博导。主要从事云降水物理学与人工影响天气研究,研究兴趣包括云降水过程观测与模拟、人工影响天气数值模式发展、作业效果检验技术研究等方面。兼任中国气象局大气探测、航空气象、海峡灾害天气等重点实验室学术委员会委员,学术期刊《气象》、《应用气象学报》、《干旱气象》等编委。主持完成“973”课题1项、国家自然科学基金面上项目4项、中国气象局创新发展专项等项目。发表论文近80篇,其中SCI论文30余篇,合作编写教材和专著各1部。获省部级科技进步奖一等奖1次、二等奖3次。2022年入选中国气象局新时代气象高层次科技创新人才计划气象领军人才并被授予“国家级首席科学家”称号,同年荣获中国气象服务协会风云人才奖。作为专家多次受邀参加国家重大活动人工影响天气保障服务,为第19届亚运会组委会环境保障部特聘专家。已指导博士和硕士研究生20多名。现为中国气象科学研究院学术委员会和学位委员会委员。
